The instruments of the Passion are as follows: The cross, the hammer, the nails, the “INRI” sign placed above the head of Christ while on the cross, the crown of thorns, the cock which crowed thrice, the spear of destiny (the holy lance), the sponge with vinegar, the 30 pieces of silver, the Veil of Veronica, the dice that were cast for Christ’s garments, the ropes used to bind Christ’s hands, the whips used to flog Christ, the pole Christ was strapped to for the flogging, and the gloves used by the Roman soldiers in order to flog Christ.
