The death of the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reported as a pneumonia rather than gunshot wounds and a nasty fall.
This rare article reads as follows:
THE MORMON LEADER. DEATH OF JOSEPH SMITH. SALT LAKE CITY. Nov. 8. Joseph Smith, who for thirty years was the head of the Mormons, has died after a three days’ illness. The cause of death was; pneumonia. He was once the principal partner with Harris, and was one of the ten richest men in America.
