These are photographs that I took while on a Broward county metro-bus. These people are a part of the “Black Hebrew” / “12 Tribes of Israel” lot, who believe (or claim to believe) that the new 12 tribes come from African, Caribbean, and Latino countries. I see similar people “preaching” in downtown Miami, Florida. These individuals are a part of the maladjusted and gravely misinformed group of Christians who believe that God “curses” people for “sinning.” I have found that Christians (of all denominations) who believe this have a distorted view of historical, social, and political events, as they believe that these events are all brought about by God, or gods, who judge, reward, or punish people, based on what their respective holy-books say. Galatians 3:13 reads, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” This verse means that by sacrificing himself, and becoming a curse (burden-bearer) for all mankind by hanging on the cross, that mankind is free from biblical curses by virtue of this miracle. So in other words, if you believe that mankind is free from sin because of Christ’s sacrifice, then by proxy, you also believe that man is free from curses altogether; you can’t pick and choose what redeeming effects Christ’s humiliating execution have on humanity; the atonement was all-inclusive. There are Christians and people of other faiths and religions who unfortunately believe that bad things happen to people because they “angered the man upstairs.” A little Bible application coupled with common sense will show that that very concept has been negated by the crucifixion.
